The two-part closing
Treat the water first. Winterize the system second.
The Deluxe Closing Kit handles the water-treatment stage. Once its overnight circulation is finished, the pool still needs its physical closing: water level, plumbing, skimmer, pump, filter, heater, sanitizer equipment and cover.
Those physical steps vary by pool and equipment. If you are not trained to remove water from lines or winterize the system, use McBurney’s professional pool-closing service rather than guessing.
The actual product order
Follow this closing-day timeline
Do all cleaning, filter maintenance and water balancing before the chemical sequence. Keep the circulation system running while the products disperse.

Clean, vacuum and balance
Remove debris, brush and vacuum, then clean or backwash the filter. Test and balance the water. Pool Magic Plus Phosfree requires sanitizer below 5 ppm.
Before chemicals

Add Stain Prevent
With the pump running, add Stain Prevent to the pool as directed.
Circulate 15 min

Add Zap 300 g
With the pump still running, broadcast Zap over the pool surface around the outer edge. Never pour it into another product.

Add End Algae 15
Add End Algae 15 around the pool edge so it disperses through the circulating water.
Keep pump running

Add Pool Magic Plus Phosfree
Shake well. For a same-day closing, distribute it evenly around the pool edge in properly balanced water with sanitizer below 5 ppm.

Circulate overnight
Allow all four products to circulate overnight. Do not clean or backwash the filter for 48 hours after adding Pool Magic Plus Phosfree.

The following day, winterize the water level, plumbing and equipment for the exact pool before securing its cover.

This is a working order for the products in the kit. Read the current container labels before use. If a label gives a different dose, interval or safety direction, the label takes priority. Never mix concentrates together.
Why clean the filter first?
Pool Magic Plus Phosfree should remain in the system without filter cleaning or backwashing for 48 hours. Finish that maintenance before adding it.
Why wait until the next day?
Overnight circulation distributes the closing products before the circulation system is shut down and the plumbing is winterized.

Do filter cleaning first. Its directions say not to backwash or clean the filter for 48 hours after application.
Does this checklist replace professional closing?
No. It guides the water-treatment order but cannot identify or winterize a pool’s plumbing and equipment. Use qualified service when those procedures are uncertain.
